Today's post is all about the fashion trends for this season, from the designer catwalk interpretations, to the highstreet versions. You don't have to follow fashion trends at all, but I thought I would collate some highstreet items for those who do want to try a few new trends, in their wardrobes.

I have 8 different trends to share with you; animal print, silver, plaid/check/tweed, 70s brown, pleats, winter floral, pastel blues and slogans. My personal favourites are animal print, slogans, pastel blue and check/plaid/tweed. Although, I would like to try 70s brown, as I haven't worn anything brown for a few years, apart from leopard print, but I am unsure if it will suit my style.

From leopard to zebra, all animal prints are on board for this trend. According the catwalk, more is more with animal print, and even layering the different prints. Be bold and confident; try the powerful head-to-toe look. But if you are unsure of this trend, go subtle with animal print accessories within your wardrobe.

1 - Dalmatian Print Shirt £25.00 PrettyLittleThing @ASOS
2 - Michelle Keegan Snake Print Mini Skirt £30.00 Very

10 - Leopard Print Teddy Faux Fur Shoulder Bag £27.00 Topshop

Brown is definitely the new black this season. Whilst there are other key colour trend's too, 70s brown stands out the most. From using it on accessories to a full head-to-toe 70s brown look, the catwalk has been awash with shades of brown. A 70s brown bag is a perfect way to introduce this trend into your own personal style, but if you want to go bold, try a suit or jumpsuit layered with more brown accessories.

A big rival to animal print this season, is plaid/tweed/check. From bold punky tartan to heritage check, there were plenty of bold & subtle ways to wear this trend. This trend is extremely versatile; from fun rock 'n' roll styling, to classical workwear. A scarf is a great way to do this trend subtly, and a suit or coat is great for those who want to go all-out for this timeless trend.

1 - Belted Jacket £49.99 ZARA
2 - Check Trousers £29.99 ZARA
3 - Red Tweed Baker Boy £20.00 River Island

10 - Check Stiletto Heel Shoes £25.99 Bershka

If 70s brown isn't this trend for you, then why don't you try the lighter pastel blues. Designers have used this traditionally spring shade for winter, which is a fresh take on the colour. The catwalks have used pastel blues for suits and slouchy jumpers, as well as accessories. The highstreet has picked up on this icy trend, using it for coats to cute beanie hats.

1 - Baby Blue Halterneck Wide Leg Jumpsuit £30.00 Missguided
2 - Lure Perspex Court Heels in Blue Faux Suede £34.99 Public Desire

10 - Suede Biker Jacket £89.99 Mango

Get ready to say how you feel or pledge allegiance to a brand, slogans are huge this AW. From t-shirts to shoes, slogans are on everything on the catwalk, and on the highstreet too. A cute simple t-shirt is a great way to try this trend. But for the bolder person, try a full outfit with blaring slogans and logos.

1 - White 'It's a Vibe' Crop Top £15.00 Missguided
2 - White 'It's a Vibe' Slogan Mini Skirt £10.00 Missguided
3 - Fluffy Love Slogan Jumper £32.00 Very

Pleats were huge on the catwalk this season. From pleated to trousers to pleated skirts, the knife-pleats are here to rock your wardrobe. The catwalk styling of them has more of an edge this season, pairing pleats with slouchy jumpers and chunky shoes, instead of delicate blouses. The highstreet loves this trend, as there are plenty of pleated skirts and trousers to try. You can even try pleats through a headband, if you are unsure of a pleated skirt.

1 - Multicolour Pleated Skirt £40.00 Next
2 - Check Pleated Skirt £25.99 Bershka

9 - Scarf Print Pleated Skirt £49.99 Mango
10 - Pleated Trousers £24.99 H&M

Winter florals are all about taking floral prints to the darker side of colour spectrum. Using darker colours within the floral print and layering with other dark colours, is how the catwalk is doing this trend. The highstreet has plenty of floral pieces for this trend, from scarfs to dresses. A great way to try this trend without breaking the bank, is taking you summer floral strappy dresses, and layering them with dark jumpers and boots. Trying a trend doesn't always mean having to buy new items.

1 - Sofie Schnoor Floral Blouse Co-ord £82.00 ASOS
2 - Sofie Schnoor Floral Trouser Co-ord £82.00 ASOS

9 - Navy Floral Print Wrap Front Body £35.00 River Island
10 - Lace Flowy Top £29.99 Mango

This final trend is one for the party season. Silver is bold, fun and futuristic. Go head-to-toe for a head-turning look, or add a slash of silver with accessories. The catwalk loved this slightly sci-fi inspired trend. On the highstreet, silver glitter and sequins are key. This trend is going to be perfect for a Christmas or New Years party look. But for a stylish day interpretation, layer a slouchy jumper with either a silver skirt or trousers.

The embroidery trend has been around for a few seasons now, and it seems to be continuing its reign during Spring/Summer 2017. Personally, I never thought I would be someone who would love embroidery, but it has slowly been creeping into my wardrobe during the Autumn/Winter months.

This trend is all about embroidered detailing on everything and anything; it doesn't matter whether it is a top, shoes or even a choker. Embroidery can seem daunting to try out, but it can be easily worn through accessories, if a whole embroidered top or dress seems to much for you. More is more with this trend, as shown on the catwalk, but I do think a simple block coloured outfit with a pop of embroidery, can equally make an impact.
Some embroidery can look a little dated, but by mixing with fabrics such as leather & sheer mesh, it can bring the whole trend up-to-date. You can also make your own embroidery clothing, by purchasing iron or sew-on embroidery patches, and applying them to denim or leather jackets, for a personalised touch.

I would suggest to have to fun with this trend. It can look girlie at times, but a lot of the embroidery items around have a more edgy vibe to them. If you want to try this trend, but are a little shy about it, I would start off with shoes, a choker or a bag. I have suggested several different items below, along with some catwalk inspiration.

Go on & give it a try!

The Spring/Summer trend of luxe loungewear has been one of my favourite trends of the season, and it also seems to be the favourite of many celebrities like Rihanna and Jessica Alba. So much so, that I think it is here to stay, during Autumn/Winter 2016.
This trend is all about loungewear but with a luxe approach, which means pyjama style silhouettes and simple slip shapes, that are wearable anytime of the day. Silk and lace are the key fabrics to the trend, with occasional accents of fur to give a 90s/slumber party vibe.

To take this trend from SS to AW, layering is key. Layering a thin turtleneck or t-shirt underneath a silk cami top, pyjama shirt or slip dress, will add warmth during the colder months. Layering tights, leather jacket and boots with a silk slip dress, gives a Courtney Love/grunge vibe, whilst making this trend work for the AW.
The pyjama suit plays a huge part in this trend, but it can be daunting to wear a full set of pyjamas outside of the house. You can take either the top or bottoms, if you are scared to wear both at the same time. A silky pyjama top tucked into jeans, or silky pyjama bottoms with a basic t-shirt, is an effortless outfit that also gives a nod to this trend.

I would just have fun with this trend. Personally, I think it can be easy to add touches of it within your wardrobe. The highstreet is full of amazing examples and I have chosen some below for you, along with some catwalk/celeb inspiration.

This is such sexy trend and I believe that anyone can work this trend, day and night.
Just have the confidence to give it a try!
