July Favourites!

My first ever favourites post! I thought that I would do a mixture of beauty, fashion and random favourites each month so here is July's, even though it is a few day's late!

Makeup

Nails

There are three nail polishes that I have been loving this month. They are all light, summery colours and are all quite cheap!

The first polish is a new one that I purchased only a couple of weeks ago. It's a Maybelline Color Show nail lacquer in Winter Baby, which is a plain white. I think that everyone should have a white nail polish in their collection so I thought that I would try this one. I won't go into a full review as that is coming soon, but I would just say that you have to put about 4 layers of this on for it to be opaque. However, when it is opaque, it looks amazing and it lasts for about 4/5 days. I just love have all white nails in the summer.
The second polish is a polish that I have had for a long time. It's an Avon nailwear pro polish in the colour Vintage Blue. It's a beautiful light blue colour which is a lovely summer colour without it having to be a pastel blue. Avon polishes are great quality as they last well and the colour pigmentation is high.

Final polish of this month is a Barry M nail paint in the colour Peach Melba. I have review this nail polish on my blog so I won't go into too much detail. I have loved wearing this colour on my toes this month since I have been wearing my sandals more, due to the sudden heat wave that England has endured. Personally, I can't fault Barry M polishes at all! I love wearing them because of the colour range and that they last so long without chipping. I have worn this colour nearly all month on my toes and have only touched it up 3 times!

Face

This month in England has been really hot! Therefore, I haven't been wearing foundation during the day, only on nights out/special occasions. Not wearing foundation though has felt amazing and has done my skin the world of good. So, instead of wearing foundation, I have just been concealing with my new favourite concealer, the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer! A full review will be coming but I have to say that this concealer is amazing and I can see why it is a cult beauty buy. I have never used a concealer that can be used on both dark under eye circles
and on blemishes!

Next face makeup product I have been loving this month is a trusted old favourite of mine from Avon. This is a highlighter product called Illuminating face pearls. You just swirl your brush over the pearls and sweep it across the tops of your cheeks to add a nice healthy summer glow to your face.

Now, no summer makeup bag should be without a face powder to combat shine. I have been using this one religiously this month during the hot days. It's Avon pressed face powder in the colour fair. Now I have been using a non-transparent one to add some colour/even out my skin tone whilst I haven't been wearing foundation. This powder hasn't left my makeup bag all month.

Final face makeup product of the month is the MUA mosaic bronzer in Shade 1. As I am really pale, I have to wear lots of sun cream/SPF products on my face/body, so I stay really pale, even if I spend loads of time in the sun. So, I have used this bronzer a lot this month to add colour to my face/neck/chest area, giving me a light sun kissed look, without looking orange. Great bronzer for pale skin and you can build it up for a more intense colour.

Eyes

I haven't wanted to wear a lot of eye makeup whilst it has been hot, so I have been doing a simple everyday eye look using these products.

First product has been a favourite of mine since I bought it. It's the MUA Undress me too palette. It's a great neutral palette and is an amazing dupe of the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. I have already done a review of this palette so I am just going to say that this palette has helped to create quick easy eye looks, on really hot days.

The next product is my Avon superSHOCK Blackest black mascara. I love this mascara! I have used it pretty much every day during July. The only downfall it has during the heat is that it starts to flake after a while. However, there is a waterproof version of the normal superSHOCK mascara, which is perfect for the heat/summer.

All this month, I have been using the light shades from the MUA palette for a base/contour, and then using this black eyeliner (Avon Always on point eyeliner) on my lash line. I have reviewed this liner already but it is so good that I had to have it in my favourites this month!

I have also enjoyed using this white eyeliner pencil from Avon colortrend. A review is coming soon but I have to say that I have been loving it on my lower waterline. It's great to open my eyes more when wearing heavy eye makeup on the lid.

Lips

Since my eye makeup has been quite basic/natural this month, I have been wearing either natural or bold lips.

My first lips favourite is a lipgloss that I have loved for years. It's the Dior Addict Ultra-gloss in the colour Red Stockings 757. It has a shimmer so when the natural sunlight hits it, my lips sparkle, which is a good look in the sun. It bright, shimmery and just a fun gloss for summer days. You can wear it on top of lipstick or on it's own.
This lipstick is from Avon (Glazewear lipstick in Nectar). I have worn this lipstick quite a lot this month as it is moisturising, as well as being shiny. It is mainly sheer but has an orange tint to it. I have done a review on it already so I am just going to say that it has been in my makeup bag all month (sign of a good product in my eyes)!

This has been a favourite of mine ever since I bought it, not just this month. I have done a review on this Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick already. It's just been perfect for those days when I wasn't wearing much makeup/wanted a natural look, as it matches the colour of my lips but makes them look healthier.

Skincare

This month, it's been really hot so I have needed to protect my skin and take care of it after it's been in the sun.

First skincare favourite is sun cream and aftersun. I am extremely pale and I burn really easily, so I use a high SPF sun cream. All you do is spray it on and rub into the skin. It's not for the face, so I used a moisturiser with SPF in it instead. After being in the sun all day, I use the after sun spray to moisturise the skin. This has been the best skincare product I have used all month as I haven't burnt!

This favourite is a tea tree and witch hazel blemish stick from Boots. It's been great for helping to reduce spots that have been coming up due to sweating more/sunglasses rubbing around the bridge of my nose.
I have been using my toner/astringent more this month around my nose because more blackheads have been appearing around the bridge of my nose, due to my sunglasses rubbing/sweat building up. My blackhead clearing astringent from Avon has helped to reduce and clear the blackheads.
My final skincare product has been a favourite for the past two months but especially throughout July. It's a facial peel/mask from Soap & Glory, called The Fab Pore. It helps keep my face clear from imperfections and discolouration, which is good a thing after I have been in the sun/sweating all day. Plus a clear skin means that I can wear no foundation during the hot day!

Fashion

Fashion favourites this month are 3 pairs of sunglasses and a pair of sandals.

These sandals have been a lifesaver this month! I mainly own shoes that cover your whole foot so when the hot weather arrived suddenly to england, I remembered that I bought this one pair of sandals from primark. So, I have worn them religiously this month to keep my feet cool. I love the studs, the leather feel and how cheap they are, £12!

Other monthly favourite has been these three pairs of sunglasses. I have done a post of my sunglasses collection so all I am going to say is that these three have been the most worn pairs this month.

Random

Now this is just going to be other random favourites of the month.

Books

My favourite book of the month has been The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I have wanted to read this for a few years but I have never got round to it. So when they made a movie of it, I knew that I had to read it. I haven't seen the film yet but I do have it on DVD. This book is amazing and I would recommend it to my friends. It's such a relatable story to most teens so definitely worth reading.

TV shows

I have three TV shows that I have loved this month. First one is BINTM. I have loved having Dannii Minogue as a judge this year! My favourite models are Sarah, Lauren and Emma. I have really enjoyed this season and I hope one of those three win! The next show I have been loving is Big Brother : Secrets and Lies 2013. I am a huge Big Brother geek and have been since the start. I haven't watched the series when Brian Dowling was the host as I didn't think he was doing a good job, so when Emma Willis took over, I was thrilled! It's been such a good season and I am so glad that Big Brother is back in my life. The final show is The Walking Dead. My friend let me borrow the 1st & 2nd series on DVD and I am now hooked. I just couldn't stop watching it. It takes over you somehow and now I am desperate to watch series three. Anywhere online that I could watch series three in the UK?
