Top Ten Alternative Advent Calenders #giftguideweek
Hey guys!
Welcome to Gift Guide Week!
Today, I am starting off #giftguideweek with a list of alternative advent calendars, to the traditional chocolate ones. I have chosen my personal favourites, from all price ranges, for all different kinds of people in your life. Enjoy!
Who doesn't like candles? For £31.99, I think this is totally worth its money, if you are a huge fan of Yankee Candles. You get 24 days worth of Christmas/Winter scents and it's in extremely adorable packaging. Also, you could buy this and seperate it into cute stocking filler gifts or bundle them into Secret Santa gifts. Overall, I think this calendar is great for the kind of person who loves homeware over chocolate.
Ciate is a very well-known nail brand, and this advent calendar is such great value for money (£124 value). If you know someone who loves experimenting with nail polish/nail art, then this could be a great advent calendar for them. Again, this could be split up for stocking fillers or grouped up for a great present. To be honest, you could give this as a present on Christmas. I know I wouldn't mind receiveing this under the tree, even though its an advent calendar!
Personally, I think this advent calendar is a little up there in price for the brand, as they are known for being a 'budget' brand. However, I can see why it is this price, as all the makeup products are full sized. Not many beauty advent calendars give full sized products, so that is a positive for this one. I think this is a perfect calendar for teenaged girls, who want to experiment more with makeup. (And just like the previous two, it would be great to seperate for gifts!)
Okay, I know this is the most outrageous price for an advent calendar, but it is Charlotte Tilbury. You get 12 days to open, so not a full advent calendar, but you get to try a wide range of Tilbury products, including a new product that has not been released yet. Also, the packaging is beautiful, and I am a sucker for beautiful packaging! If I could afford this, I would be snapping it up right away. I would also love this under my tree on Christmas day, just like many other CT fans out there!
A different kind of beauty calendar now. I don't think I have ever seen a hair product advent calendar, so I had to include it in this list. Kerastase is an amazing haircare brand, and this calendar is an amazing price, as Kerastase products are expensive on there own. You get deluxe sized samples and one full sized product, in your 24 days of advent, with this calendar. I do think this would, again, be perfect to split up for stocking etc, amongst your family and friends. Overall, a great calendar, but make sure to get it fast, as it is limited.
In this calendar from NO.7, you get 25 different products, with 6 being full sized. They range from makeup to skincare, and has a value of £148, so paying £38 for this calendar is incredible. Personally, I'm not a massive fan of NO.7, but my Mum & Grandma are, so maybe this is the alternative calendar for them. It is also beautifully packaged, so it would be lovely to receive as a gift too.
I love this advent calendar from Topshop! You get a range of different jewellery within the calendar, so this is perfect for someone who loves trying different accessories. I think this would be great for many different women, but especially for teenagers who want to try new styles out. What I love about this calendar the most, is that you can keep the jewellery forever! (unlike a beauty product or chocolate.) Great price for such a unique advent calendar.
Again, like the Charlotte Tilbury calendar, this is a bit of a crazy price for an advent calendar. However, if you like trying different whiskeys, or are looking for a great present for your dad; this is the calendar for you. (This calendar also comes in other types of alcohol too.) Great calendar for a whisky connoisseur or for splitting up into stockings!
Now for the cheapest calendar on this list. A great calendar for younger girls who want to start experimenting with makeup, without it being expensive makeup. Now, I haven't tested this makeup out myself to see how good the quality is, but for £20, it could be nice for someone to try, who is new to makeup. The packaging is super pretty and could also be a nice gift for a younger girl.
My final calendar is so different to anything I have seen before. You get 24 different teas to try during advent, with two tea bags each day. I think this is such a lovely calendar for huge tea drinkers and for people who want to start experimenting with their tea, but don't know which flavours to try. I love the way it has been designed, so that you can hang it up for people to see. I do think it is worth the money, as specialised flavoured teas can be expensive.
So those are my top ten choices of advent calendars.
Are you guys trying an alternative advent calendar, instead of a chocolate one, this year?
Come back tomorrow for more #giftguideweek!
