Tag/Tell-all Tuesday - June Favourites
It's monthly favourites time! I can't believe how fast June has gone by!
I have been 'shopping my stash', travelling and enjoying the sunshine.
So, let's get on with it!
Make up
My first monthly favourite is my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permenant Taupe. I bought this quite a few months ago and loved it then. I decided that I needed something to keep my eye shadows in place during the hot days, which is when I remembered this creme shadow that lasts all day. I have been using it for my daytime looks and it has kept my shadow in place.
Another re-discovery from my collection has been my Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist. I have re-fallen in love with this gloss stick this month. I needed a nude lip product that would be hydrating during the heat, as my lips can dry out easily, and this worked for me. I have been wearing this nearly everyday!
It seems that this month was full of re-discoveries from my make-up as my ELF Makeup Mist and Set Spray is also in my monthly faves. I have used this for months but it has been so useful during the hot weather. I am always afraid of my makeup moving because of sweat etc, but this has helped to keep my makeup in place.
Another item I have used this month to help keep my makeup in place is Benefit's Pore-fessional primer. I have wanted to try this for a long time and I was offered a sample size a few months ago. I have never used a primer before and was a bit nervous using one, as I always have trouble with my foundation/skin anyway. However, this primer is amazing! I now understand why so many people use this primer. The only problem now is that I want to buy the full price one!
I have used this eyebrow duo kit from ELF for quite a while, but with the Real Techniques eyebrow brush. I purchased the silicone liner brush by Real Techniques a couple of months ago, but I could never find a use for it. I didn't like it for eyeliner, but I love using it with the brow wax/gel from this duo. I am able to create natural brows with brow hair-style flicks. A perfect partnership!
Hair & Body
This Lee Stafford original dry shampoo has been great for my in-between washes days and for when I want to add a bit of volume. I love that it doesn't have a 'white powder' effect, which can happen with some dry shampoos. I still love my Batiste dry shampoo but I am trying out others to see if they work as well.
My trusty GHDs! For a couple of months, I have been trying out a more natural look with my hair and blow-drying it 'straight'. But this month, I have been straightening my hair again. I used to straighten my hair everyday, for years and I remember why I did. As much as I love my natural waves/curls, straightening my hair de-frizzes it and keeps my hair more manageable.
Finally a new product that I bought this month! I was looking for a new body butter/moisturiser and The Body Shop were selling a few of them off for £5. So, I went in and fell in love with this scent. I love the consistancy and how moisturising The Body Shop body butters are, but the Passion Fruit scent drew me in. Plus, you always need to stock up on their body butters when they are on offer for £5!
Fashion
Two fashion favourites this month. One is my long, slightly sheer black cardigan from Primark. It is something I have been searching for, for such a long time. It is such a nice cardigan to throw on when it gets a little chilly on summer evenings. The next fashion item is my choker. It is slightly BDSM looking, but I love it! It just adds a 90s feel to a 'night out' outfit.
Other
I went to Cambridge during June to see one of my best friends. It was such a lovely couple of days of sunshine, drinking and getting to know her uni friends. A stand out moment from the month.
Another favourite of the month is Kasabian! From their amazing new album 48:13, their single eez-eh (which I can't stop dancing to) to the incredible homecoming gig I went to, it has been a Kasabian-loving month. I have done a blog post all about the gig, but I would just like to say that the album is also incredible.
Go have a listen!
Sticking to the music front for my final two favourites of the month. They are both singles that I can't stop singing around the house! The first is Leah McFall - Home ft Will.i.am. She was Will.i.am's contestant on the voice last year and in my opinion, should of won. I have been patiently waiting for her first single and I am in love with it. When I first heard it, I wasn't so sure, but it got stuck in my head after the third play. Now I can't stop humming/singing it. The second single is from a band called The Struts. I have liked their music for a couple of months, but I am in love with this song. It's so catchy and I at least play it twice a day. I think my parents are getting a little sick of hearing it everyday!
And that is my monthly favourites.
