AW 2013 Trends #3 - The square root.

This trend is all about checks and squares. From tartan to weaving, this is one hot trend for this season. Don't be afraid of choosing colour within your tartan this season, as SS 2013's strict monochrome colour scheme isn't prominent anymore. Step out of traditional tartan with big blanket weaves and old laundry style bag checks instead. Also, don't be afraid of wearing check on check, just take inspiration from the catwalk. If, the idea of wearing lots of pattern scares you, then just add checks/tartan to your outfits with nail art and accessories.

If you are afraid of wearing checks or tartan clothing, then why don't you try this trend through nail art. I found a beauty tartan nail art design on a blog.

Isn't this design beautiful! It reminds me of a classic Burberry scarf.
In the blog post I have linked, the author has left polishes that she has used, but I have some colour recommendations that would help you to recreate this look too.

^^^The bows she used.^^^

Topshop nail polish in Mannequin £5.00
Topshop nail polish in Cloak and Dagger £5.00
Nail decoration tool from Avon £1.50 (normally £3.00)
Collection Lasting colour nail polish in Fire Engine £2.99 (Boots)
Maybelline Color Show nail polish in Winter Baby £2.99 (Boots)

I always love seeing tartan in high street shops and on the catwalk for AW, as tartan reminds me of Autumn! I chose some pieces for curvier ladies as well as slimmer ones, but whatever your size, you must try this trend. It's an easy way to add pattern into your wardrobe and you don't just have to stick to clothing. I am slightly in love with this nail art design! I think I might have to try it out myself. I just hope Nailed it NZ doesn't mind me using her picture etc!
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this post and it has inspired you to buy something checked/tartan.
Bye
